Project | Colorful and Collected CT Library

transFORM designers, Jill & Stacey, recently created and insanely chic home library for a Connecticut family, who was looking to add a stylish and scholarly appeal to their space. They were specifically  focused on a smart storage solution for their impressive collection of books.

The couple also wanted to ensure enough space to display heirlooms and other meaningful decor. These personal objects included portraits of the homeowners ancestors, who have a long history of U.S. military service.

How did you create this?

"A custom home library is the ultimate classic touch." - J&S

Jill and Stacey indulged this empty space with built-in bookshelves. The walls were canvased in white cabinetry to retain a clean, minimalistic visual. The beautiful white painted maple wood, is a tribute to the classics. There's a purity to this design that elevates the look and feel of the space.

Bright colored and orderly lined books were carefully styled to add a dramatic punch to the overall aesthetics of the unit. The combination of color and natural light adds major impact to this whitewashed space. Finally, a chic library ladder was incorporated for practicality as it makes anything that's stored up high more accessible.

How did this project improve their lifestyle?

When it comes to the shelfie game, there’s one move that always wins: a home library. And in this case "the customer was thrilled with the finished product!!" With comfortable seating and an efficient lighting system, they find themselves in this space hours at a time. It's simply their great escape after a long day.
