Last month, a repeat customer contacted transFORM to create a custom wall unit for their New Jersey home. Our designer Joe Egan, focused on both the home and the homeowner to ensure wants and needs were addressed.
What did they want? Did they have a favorite look or style they wanted you to create?
The goal was to create a built-in wall unit which enhanced the home's storage potential and functionality, so that the homeowners (and their guests) could enjoy activities and entertainment in an attractive and organized setting.
How did you create this?
Designed in a Custom Gray Melamine and Brushed Aluminum Mica, this unit combines ample cabinet space, sliding drawers and floating shelves to store everything from books and movies to home decor and mementos.
The neutral color combination proves to be anything but dull, it’s actually sophisticated, with a hint of luxury, even.
Joe furthered the contemporary feel by using Shaker style doors and complementing aluminum hardware.
In addition, he incorporated floating shelves as a way to show off the couples handsome collection of artwork.
Glass shelving was also added to prominently feature their family photos and other decorative pieces.
The entertainment storage console accommodates their flat-panel television while hiding wires from the cable box and media player for a neat and stylish look.
The design was completed with integrated LED lighting. Positioned by the work space are recessed mounted LED lights, which enhance the look of the unit while showcasing their displayed possessions. The system also features touch switches and dimmers, that allow you to set the right scene and feel at ease and relaxed at home.
How did this project improve their lifestyle?
"I have used transFORM on two occasions - the work was superlative. We previously used them for our closets and now our den. We had them build a wall unit that is simply awesome. It fits perfectly within our decor and the design was perfect. Overall, just FABULOUS - as is Joe Egan! I can't recommend them more highly." - Ellen G. (Homeowner)
