On Monday, May 16th, transFORM attended the 2016 ICFF and NYCxDESIGN Expo. We were excited to be a part of the International Contemporary Furniture Fair and ASID Student Career Exchange. We especially enjoyed meeting new friends and designers while introducing them to our Manhattan showroom at our Late Night Open House.
transFORM’s Co-Founder, Andreas Messis, and our Senior Design Managers, Rozalia Kiss and Gavin Bromell, started their busy day at the Javits Center, where they were introduced to emerging designers from around the world.
ICFF has become the North American platform for “what’s new and what’s next” in interior design. New pavilions, exhibitors and features filled more than half of the third level of the spacious convention center.
transFORM’s Marketing Director, Donovan Malloy, was also in attendance, working double-duty as the ASID New York Metro Chapter’s Membership Director. Other familiar faces included ASID’s Emerging Professionals Chair, Alex Sobolewski and Interior Designer/ ASID NY Metro Chapter President, Robin Baron.
As an ASID Industry Partner, transFORM had the chance to participate in their Career Exchange and Review. This was an opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain insight on design career path options from professionals and industry representatives.
Through 10 minute networking intervals, transFORM offered one-on-one resume/portfolio critiques to young designers pursuing an internship or entry level position.
After a fun filled day at the Javits Center, we continued the celebration at our Manhattan Showroom & Gallery located in the New York Design Center. Our Late Night Open House consisted of networking and excellent conversation as well as wine, prosecco, and refreshments.
Our Manhattan and Brooklyn designers were also on-hand to offer tours and answer questions.
A big thank you to the transFORM staff and everyone in attendance for making the evening a success.
We will definitely be looking forward to next year's festivities!
