NEWS | TF Wins Westchester Home Design Award 2017

On April 12th, transFORM attended Westchester Magazine’s 2017 Home Design Awards at the  Performing Arts Center at Purchase College. The area's top designers, architects, and builders united in recognition of the growth and importance home design plays in Westchester County.

Needless to say, the venue was full of familiar faces and chic design elements.

We are thrilled to announce that transFORM’s “White Painted Maple Wood Walk-In” was named Best Closet by a panel of stellar design professionals, including Denise Davies (D2 Intérieurs), Francine Gardner (Intérieurs), Lindsey Coral Harper (Interiors), Margaret Mintz (Mintz & Partners, INC.) and George Snead (Wakefield Design Center).

This project was designed by transFORM's Senior Designer, Ileen Greenberg. "We built this stunning dressing room in maple wood with a crisp white painted finish. The space features a bench radiator cover, hutch, center island, enclosed shoe wall with numerous shelves and cubbies, abundant hanging storage, Revere Style doors and a vanity. The beautiful marble counter tops and other decorative items were supplied by the homeowner. The Island has deep velvet lined drawers, double jewelry drawers, large hamper and decorative corbels under the extended overhang. The hutch has clear glass shelves, framed glass door fronts and surface mounted LED lighting. The dressing room features brushed chrome tie racks, belt racks, scarf racks and valet rods. Each section is an extension of the next without compromising that sense of cozy intimacy, which is integral to a livable dressing area." - IG

Andreas Messis, Co-Founder, accepted the award on behalf of Ileen and transFORM. "I am accepting this award on all of our behalves because in our company, nothing works with just one person. We have 90 employees and we all depend on each other. I just want to thank the nominating committee, the judges and of course Westchester Home. Thank you." - AM

Prior to announcing the winners, Jenn Andrlik, Westchester Home’s Executive Editor, hosted a fabulous talk with designers, Elissa Grayer and Vincente Wolf. The topic of conversation centered around creating a peaceful environment.

Throughout the night we met many wonderful people from our community. Their success stories and efforts to make a difference in home design made us even happier to be a part of this great event. Again, to the judges, hosts, and everyone at Westchester Home, our heartfelt thanks. And to the other winners and finalists, CONGRATULATIONS!
